Introduction to Computer Systems: What is a computer?

So what exactly is a computer?

Welcome to my first post! The more you learn the more you will learn the science behind the magic on how computers work!

A computer that we know, would typically be a modern electronic device that can store and performs fast binary calculations. And more than anything else, we just see it as magic and it just doing its own thing. But before the Digital Revolution. A computer was known as; ‘One who computes; a reckoner; a calculator’ and this very process was right at its fundamentals.

But who were these people behind this ‘brain processes’? And of course! Why would this be important for someone with no experience who just wants to learn computing?

This is merely to separate the strong from the weak! We have to look at different angles. There is a ton of information that is coming to you, the learner! And you have to keen to read. And learn!

What is a computer system?
A computer system. In a nutshell is a electronic device that calculates user input > processes the input > and presents an output for the user. But that doesn't explain much about what and how it works. How the information passes, and how it understands what to look for and how it always does what it's told.

Think of it no more than a calculator, you enter a mathematical operation, request the calculator to perform the operation, and display a digital output to save the user performing this mathematical operation themselves with the possibility of an incorrect result. As operations become more complex it becomes harder for the human mind to understand and complete as compared to a machine programmed to complete such a task.
